About Us
It all begins and ends in data, and understanding this means knowing how to ask the right questions. From policy-making and economics to workplace culture and mindset, everything is shaped by underlying data and we strive to uncover just how that happens.
Our day jobs include the full cycle of data interpretation from creating the foundation to dealing with the consequences we're hands-on at every step.
Our passion doesn’t end just with the workday though. We spent countless of late-night events with friends and Sunday mornings on delving into, discussing and - let’s be honest - arguing about how best to do things and what the myriad available sources tell us.
This site is the result of these many years of experience and passion; and we couldn’t be more excited to share our thoughts with you. Whether you are a professional looking for inspiration; a fellow data nerd spending your free time here; or one of our friends reading this out of courtesy - we hope that we can make this interesting world accessible and that together we can ask those right questions.
What We Do
We dive deep into data, creating statistical frameworks and offering data-informed perspectives on a wide range of subjects such as:
Polling and Election Models: Including our very own polling accuracy and prediction models.
Workplace Culture & The Labor Market: Both the ‘Human’ and the ‘Resources’.
Economics: Public opinion, sentiment and trends.
Sports: The data of the beautiful game(s).
… and other things we consider neat.
Who We Are
Kata Veres
Psychologist
Statistics and I didn’t hit it off at first, but as I began to understand it, I grew to appreciate it and eventually became quite fond of it. As a psychology graduate, I’ve come to value the blunt honesty of a failed significance test.
With so much data out there these days, just try not to get lost in it. On the flip-side, as long as we know how to look for it I think we can do amazing stuff.

To paraphrase Isaac Asimov, statistics is the quintessence of sociology; it is the science of human behavior explained by mathematical equations. The individual human being is unpredictable but reading the data of sufficiently large groups can reveal valuable information removed from the subjective.
The original text is about psychohistory; and while we can’t predict the future with real statistics, it gives us tools to anticipate it better and insight into the present.
And yes, this really is how I write.
